Hello! I'm Sylviane
I grew up French in a small Midwestern town. From there, I joined the U.S. Army, serving six years as an Active Duty Officer and deploying to Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
The military shaped me as I lived in Seoul, South Korea for a year, learning the language and culture through K-dramas, K-pop, and culinary adventures. Since then, I’ve traveled to all 50 U.S. states and over 45 countries, such as Turkmenistan, Lesotho, Mongolia, and Peru. I’m fascinated by history and local stories, finding beauty in the details and global themes.
Following my military service, I decided to cultivate my passion for storytelling, earning a Certificate in Producing from UCLA and producing multiple video projects with Ost Haus, including a feature documentary, Higher Ground. I’m currently an Associate Producer with National Geographic Society’s Impact Story Lab.
